If you run Infor LN, the route from your ERP to your documents and labels is already built. Infor has put the connection to Interform into LN itself, so it is there and ready to use.

Because it is part of the LN product, every LN customer gets the same connection - not a one-off integration built for one site. And it connects to Interform and to no other output solution.

At Infor Velocity Week in Orlando (06-10-2026 to 08-10-2026), Peter Sørensen, CEO of Interform, presented a session with Infor: “Streamlined Output: Smarter Document Management, Powered by Partnership”, together with Bram Vijfhuizen, Product Management, and Pieter Mulder, Development Manager LN Technology.

Here is what that connection is, how LN and InterformNG2 work together, and what it means for LN customers.

When output needs go beyond standard

Many LN processes end in a document or a label: an invoice, order paperwork, a production or transport document, a shipping label. In manufacturing and logistics, when that output fails, operations slow down or stop.

Many LN sites run on standard output and do not require anything else. Needs go beyond standard when the requirements get more demanding - labels built to a customer’s exact specification, documents that have to behave the same way across LN, Infor OS, IDM, FactoryTrack, WMS and other systems, or a team that wants to change a layout without waiting for a project.

What Infor has built

Output data goes from LN to Interform through an API, with no middleware and no connector in between.

Because the API is part of LN, there is no integration to specify, build or maintain - Infor has already built it, and Infor maintains it as part of LN.

What this means if you run LN

• A working connection from day one: LN talks to InterformNG2 directly, so a project starts at template design rather than at integration.
• A direct line from LN to InterformNG2: no middleware in between to licence, keep patched or involve when something needs looking at.
• A shorter path to a decision: LN’s own output route goes to Interform, so the question becomes what you want your documents to do, not how to connect them.

How LN and InterformNG2 work together

LN creates an XML file with the business data and sends it to InterformNG2. From there, InterformNG2 handles everything that turns that data into finished output: design, workflows, data enrichment and delivery.

Because this output logic sits outside LN, documents and labels stay stable through LN upgrades, migrations and environment changes.

Cloud, hybrid or on-premise

• Flexible deployment: InterformNG2 runs in the cloud with a local print client, or on-premise - with the same behaviour in both.
• Output performance: with InterformNG2 on-premise, data moves straight from LN to a local output system, which can make printing faster and more stable.
• Safer upgrades: InterformNG2 is a separate output layer, so LN upgrades and cloud migrations carry less risk for output.
• One place for all output: output from finance, supply chain, warehousing and systems outside the ERP is managed in one place.

What the session showed

We showed a picking list created and sent by email, a sales order created, sent by email and archived in IDM, and labels created and sent from LN - with LN running in a US cloud and Interform in the EU, and the round trip in under two seconds. That is quick enough to sit inside a live process: the person who clicks print on a picking list does not wait for it.

We also showed our ambition to cut a standard implementation down to one week.

I am just back from the DSAG annual congress in Köln. The autonomous enterprise was one of the big themes, and on Thursday SAP CEO Christian Klein carried the same message in his talk on the main stage. SAP first set out the idea at SAP Sapphire in May 2026. It is a significant step for ERP. It promises faster processes, better decisions and more time for people to work on what matters. This post explains what SAP means by it, and how companies can prepare one part of the picture that every process depends on: the output it produces, as documents and as data.

What SAP means by the autonomous enterprise

SAP describes the autonomous enterprise as a model where “humans and AI work together to meet the accelerating demands of global business profitably, strategically and safely”.

It rests on three parts.

• The SAP Business AI Platform. This combines SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP Business Data Cloud and SAP Business AI. A Knowledge Graph maps business entities, processes and the relationships between them. This gives AI agents the business context they need.
• The SAP Autonomous Suite. More than 50 Joule assistants direct over 200 specialised agents across finance, supply chain, procurement and HR. Finance comes first. One example is an Autonomous Close Assistant that SAP says compresses the financial close “from weeks to days”.
• Joule Work. Instead of moving between applications and screens, a user describes the outcome they want. Agents then run the work across SAP and non-SAP systems.

SAP is rolling this out in phases, and availability varies by capability. The direction is clear, and it is a positive one. People set goals and limits. Software does more of the work to reach them. It will not only record what people do. It will decide and act.

What does not change: every process ends in output

Take a simple order-to-cash process. An agent might spot an issue, update the data, trigger the next step and move the order forward. No employee needs to handle each stage by hand.

At some point, the process reaches the outside world. Sometimes that is a document a person reads. A warehouse scans a label. A driver carries a delivery note. A customer opens an invoice. More and more often, it is structured data that another system reads. An e-invoice goes to a tax authority or an e-invoicing network. An order confirmation or a shipping notice goes straight into a customer’s or a carrier’s system.

These are the same thing in two forms. A PDF invoice and an e-invoice carry the same facts. One is read by a person, the other by a machine. Both are output, and both leave your business under your name.

Output is where a decision becomes visible to another organisation. It is also where an error becomes visible. A wrong VAT number, a missing field, a label that does not scan or an e-invoice that fails validation is not an internal problem. It reaches a customer, a carrier or an authority.

So the autonomous enterprise does not replace output. It makes good output more valuable. Agents produce more of it, faster, with fewer people looking at each document. And a growing share of it is data that no person reads at all.

What agents ask of your output

Volume goes up. When a process runs in minutes instead of days, documents and data are produced as fast as decisions are made. Peaks that once spread across a week can arrive in an hour. Output has to keep that pace without becoming the bottleneck.

Manual checks become the exception. In many companies today, someone looks at a document before it leaves. They notice the wrong logo, the missing reference or the address in the wrong field. When an agent runs the process end to end, people are freed from that work. The output then needs to be right by design. Structured data was never checked by eye in the first place. A person cannot open an e-invoice file and spot a wrong tax code. Those checks have to happen in the system.

The rules keep moving. E-invoicing formats and rules differ by country and by network, and they change often. A transaction can be correct inside the ERP while its document or data still needs the right format, structure and validation before it is sent.

Most companies run more than one system. Many businesses run SAP alongside Infor, Microsoft Dynamics or IBM i, across sites, regions or acquired companies. Agents may work across all of them. If each system produces output in its own way, the result is a different invoice layout, a different label, a different data format and a different set of rules for each one.

None of this is a reason to wait. It is a reason to get the output layer ready, so agents can deliver their full value.

Where Output Management sits

Output Management is the layer between the ERP and the outside world. It takes the data a process produces and turns it into what each recipient needs: a printed or digital document for a person, or a structured format for a system.

This is the role of InterformNG2. It takes source data from the ERP. It converts that data into the document or data format each recipient or country requires - invoices, e-invoices, delivery notes, labels and purchase orders. It validates the structure against the active rules. It then delivers the result by print, email or e-invoicing network.

This layer complements the autonomous enterprise. It sits beside it. SAP’s agents decide what should happen. Output Management makes sure the output that results, document or data, is correct, consistent and delivered in the right form.

Getting your output ready for agents

If you are planning for the autonomous enterprise, your output is a practical place to start. These questions help you get it ready.

1. Who checks documents today, and what do they catch? If a person corrects documents before they leave, that work needs to move into the output layer. Structured data needs the same checks, built into the system.
2. How many systems produce your documents and data? If each ERP formats its own invoices, labels and data files, you have more than one set of rules to maintain.
3. How do you keep up with e-invoicing changes? Know who updates formats and validation rules, and how long it takes.
4. Can document rules change without changing the ERP process? If every layout change needs an ERP project, output will slow down everything around it.
5. What happens when a document cannot be produced or delivered? Someone, or something, needs to know at once.
6. Can you see what was sent? When an agent acts, you need a clear record of which document or data file went where, in which format, and when.

The autonomous enterprise will make decisions faster and processes simpler. The documents and data those decisions produce carry your name to customers, suppliers and authorities. With the right output layer in place, every one of them can be right, every time.

Interform now supports Azure Service Bus & Azure Key Vault

A new way of handling input & output has been added to InterformNG2. With the new InterformNG2 4.0 update, both Azure Service Bus and Azure Key Vault are now supported.

The addition of Azure support aligns with our strategic approach to boost InterformNG2 ability to connect with as many applications and platforms and handling critical infrastructure no matter what provider customers are using.

This new feature enables users of various ERPs to communicate more effectively with external partners and stakeholders and is designed for both cloud-based and on-premises setups. Additionally, this functionality benefits organizations that operate multiple, diverse ERP systems, provided these systems support sending and receiving web services.

Fundamentally, this means that InterformNG2 can now send and receive data from and via Azure Service Bus. Since Azure Service Bus functions as a “holding area” for information until applications are ready to receive it, an ERP system can receive a large volume of orders without being overloaded, ensuring that the system runs smoothly.

Additionally, InterformNG2 can now also read and retrieve decrypted data from Azure Key Vault. This is relevant for customers, with one or more workflows that depends on sensitive data from Azure Key Vault. Due to the closed network configuration upon which Azure Key Vault is built, there will be no security risk when data is sent from Azure Key Vault to InterformNG2.

Efficient order processing & secure data access in Manufacturing

A great use case could be a large manufacturing company with an ERP system with several modules, that experiences a sudden increase in orders or has a workflow where the procurement and production module are being used asynchronously.

1. Order Initiation: An order is sent to the procurement module. The procurement module passes this order onto InterformNG2.
2. Data retrieval: Upon receiving the order, InterformNG2 contacts Azure Key Vault to securely retrieve the necessary access credentials (such as connection strings or API keys) required to access a sensitive database.

3. Data Access and Transformation: Using the retrieved credentials, InterformNG2 accesses the sensitive database, retrieves the required data, and transforms it into a specified format for downstream processing.
4. Queue Management: Once the data is prepared, InterformNG2 sends it as a message via Azure Service Bus. Service Bus ensures asynchronous messaging between services, reliably delivering the message even if the receiving service is temporarily unavailable.
5. Order Processing: The production module, designed to handle orders asynchronously, receives the message from the Service Bus. It then processes the order, adjusting production schedules accordingly to ensure smooth operations.

This process, now available due to Azure Service Bus and Key Vault, keeps communication reliable and sensitive data secure, even during peak production times. Imagine the manufacturing plant receives a sudden order spike due to increased demand. The procurement system quickly places multiple orders using the Service Bus, ensuring each order is queued for processing.

How do I get access to this feature?

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) is set to take effect on June 28, 2025. This regulation introduces new requirements to improve the accessibility of a wide range of digital products and services, including PDF documents.

Until now, standard PDFs or PDF/A (archive format) have been widely used in communication. However, starting from June 28, 2025, businesses that provide digital documents to consumers must ensure those documents are accessible. Following the PDF/UA standard (PDF/Universal Accessibility) is the recommended way to meet these new accessibility requirements.

If your organization uses PDFs in customer communication, now is the time to start preparing for PDF/UA to ensure compliance and deliver accessible documents to all users.

What is PDF/UA?

PDF/UA stands for PDF Universal Accessibility and is defined by the ISO 14289 standard. It is a specialized version of the PDF format designed to ensure that digital documents are usable by people who rely on assistive technologies, such as screen readers.

A PDF/UA-compliant document includes:

• Proper tagging of content structure (headings, paragraphs, lists, tables)
• Logical reading order
• Alternative text for images & links
• Searchable and selectable text
• Adequate contrast and color use for readability

Creating and maintaining accessible PDFs ensures that information is inclusive and usable by everyone, regardless of ability.

If your organization operates in the EU and provides PDFs to customers or the public, those PDFs will increasingly need to meet accessibility standards under laws like the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and following the PDF/UA standard is the best way to ensure compliance.

The same applies if your company operates in the U.S. Here, accessibility requirements come from Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (for federal agencies and their vendors) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) (for businesses serving the public). Whether Section 508 or the ADA applies depends on your sector, but creating PDF/UA-compliant documents helps you meet the accessibility requirements of both.

Is PDF/A not enough to comply with the EAA?

The EAA focuses on accessibility and usability, and though PDF/A is designed for long-term preservation and archiving of documents. It does not guarantee that a document is accessible to users with disabilities. PDF/UA, on the other hand, specifically focuses on accessibility features such as correct reading order, tagging, and alternative text for images.

As mentioned earlier PDF/UA must have logical reading order, alternative text for images, searchable and selectable text, and proper tagging of content structure – all things that PDF/A not necessarily lives up to or are required to.

Is the EAA only limited to PDFs?

No. The EAA applies to websites (e-commerce included), mobile apps, digital documents (PDFs, Word files, etc.), banking, telecom, and transport services and lastly eBooks, ticketing systems and similar services.

Does the EAA only affect product released after june 2025?

Yes, initially.  From June 28, 2025, the law applies to new products and services.
However, starting June 28, 2030, all in-scope products and services (including those launched before 2025) must also be compliant.

What happens if my business does not comply with EAA?

Penalties will be issued for not following and complying, ranging from €1000 EUR to €500,000. There are various factors that determine the fee, starting from; the country that your business operates, and how many offences your business is convicted of and whether this is a repeated offence.

Another penalty that is also used is public notices about non-compliance, once again this is not used in every country.

There are though some businesses who are exempt from the EAA and fines, but the rules for these differ from country to country.

Electronic invoicing has been around for several years already. Back in 2005, the Danish Government made it mandatory by law that all invoices to the public sector must be delivered in XML format. So pretty much as a supplier, the only way of getting paid is to deliver your invoices as XML.

This has gradually over the years been increasing to most of the European countries these days covering both the private and the public sector.

In Germany, we are currently implementing ZUGFeRD as well as XRechnung with a lot of our customers. ZUGFeRD is a “funny” format. Basically, it is a combination of PDF and XML where a structured/formatted XML (XRechnung format) is embedded in the PDF. This way you can visually view the format as well as set up an automatic process for reading and processing the XML document.

Currently the federal authorities and federal public institutions in accordance with the E-Rech-Vo request suppliers to submit E-invoices. But also in the public sector, we have seen several industry leaders adopting the requirements, requesting their own suppliers to adopt ZUGFeRD and/or XRechnung.

By 2025 and 2026 several countries are either launching initiatives, updating regulations or investegating opportunities. Currently Norway are investegating the opportunities, while France, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden and Germany are both updating and launching E-invoice-campaigns.

This “new” way of invoicing has the potential to replace traditional invoices and several other business documents in the future. More and more companies are switching to electronic invoices when conducting their business.

What is electronic invoicing?

An electronic invoice is a type of invoice that is issued, sent and received, and paid in an electronic format.

There are a lot of e-invoice types, but the main distinction is between:

• Structured data (for example the XML format)
• Unstructured data (PDF, JPEG, or Word documents)
• Hybrid data (for example, ZUGFeRD or Peppol)

Naturally, structured and hybrid e-invoices are superior to unstructured ones. This is because structured data formats can be opened and viewed with different software solutions. The sender and recipient of the invoice don’t have to use the same programs to open the invoice.

Advantages of electronic invoicing

Doing business electronically is becoming more common in companies all over the world. As one of the steps of conducting business digitally, e-invoicing can benefit a company in many ways.

E-invoicing started by being the default business to government invoicing tool. Since the European Directive 2014/55/EU was passed, governments in the EU require businesses that apply for public sector contracts to submit their invoices in electronic form. And a lot of other countries have followed this example since 2014.

This means that if your business plans on working on any government contracts, it needs to have e-invoicing capabilities.

• Legally compliant – all e-invoices are compliant with the legal standards of the countries using them.
• Mandatory – this type of invoicing will become obligatory soon.
