Frankit (frank:it Anwendungsberatung) is an Austrian IBM i specialist based in Alkoven, near Linz. Founded in 2005 by Heimo Frank and still owner-led, it focuses on Output Management and document management for businesses running IBM i, backed by more than 30 years of project experience.
The practice is built around two product lines: InterformNG2 for Output Management and Comarch ECM for document management and archiving. Frankit is an IBM Certified Specialist for Power Systems Technical Support for i and an Interform Certified Partner at Implementation Consultant level. Frankit works inside the customer's IBM i environment: the system, the applications and the data they produce. InterformNG2 takes that data and turns it into documents, labels and electronic output, then sends each one to its destination.
When a Frankit customer needs to automate output - invoices, delivery notes, shipping labels, production documents or compliance forms - InterformNG2 is the platform Frankit brings to the project. Frankit scopes the requirement, builds the templates, integrates with the IBM i applications and supports the solution in production. InterformNG2 reads the structured input your IBM i applications already produce (XML, JSON, CSV) and turns it into the output the business needs - PCL and PostScript for laser printing, PDF for email and archiving, and ZPL for label printing on Zebra and compatible printers. Frankit's own IBM i work covers RPG and ILE applications, spooled-file output, workflow and archiving.
InterformNG2 for IBM i →Frankit has built 1D, 2D and high-density barcode output for IBM i customers across many standards, including QR codes, DataMatrix and UPS MaxiCode. More recently, Frankit has used InterformNG2 to drive laser engraving on metal, so permanent part marking runs through the same Output Management workflow as the printed documents. For customers that want capture and archiving too, Frankit pairs InterformNG2 with Comarch ECM on the same IBM i environment.
